Concerts in the Old Town, Stockholm

Camerata Stockholm has an ambitious concert program performing roughly 30 concerts each summer season. When the majority of Stockholm’s classical music venues are closed for the summer, Camerata Stockholm’s concert series has just begun.edigera mig. Concert information

The concert with Camerata Stockholm is 45 minutes in length and features some of the best-known Swedish and Scandinavian composers. The music captures the distinctive Scandinavian style in classical music from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic eras. The pieces in the concert program are interlaced with short facts about the music, composers and concert venue. Brief notes are also presented in the concert program which is available in Swedish and English.

The concert venue for Camerata Stockholm is located in the Old Town, on Slottsbacken 6, across from the Royal Palace. The building, which dates from 1675, was built by the French merchant Honoré Boneau. Since 1906 the building is owned and administered by the City of Stockholm. Today it houses the Royal Coin Cabinet and the National Museum of Economy since 1996.
